Creating Relatable Characters
Within the fantastical world of Hiyoko, it’s easy to get lost. That’s why I’ve been developing a robust set of human characters that are designed with relatability in mind so that you can fully immerse yourself in some of the more fantastical elements Hiyoko has to offer.
An important part of designing stylized human characters is ensuring that they have enough ways to emote. one of the easiest ways to express exaggerated emotions is to simply have a wide array of expressions. This is something I kept in mind, designing a texture atlas for both the eyes and the mouth.
