Developing a physical product from digital artwork.
Despite loving what I do, I yearn to hold things in my hands. It’s part of why I love collecting things. Because I primarily work in a digital medium, I’m robbing myself of that physical experience. There’s nothing tangible. Hiyoko Trading Cards was a one-off idea intended to step towards that goal of having my characters exist in the palm of my hand.
This experiment is yet to be fully developed, and I’d love to move it beyond just a concept. I did produce a handful of prototype work, which is presented below.
